Protect Your Health Care
How repealing the Affordable Care Act could hurt you:
Repealing the ACA would:
Impose an age tax that would mean people over the age of 50 could pay up to 5 times more for their health insurance;
Leave between 16 and 32 million more Americans uninsured; and
Destroy Medicaid, hurting children, people with serious disabilities, and people in need of nursing home care.
Additionally, repealing the ACA would mean fewer protections for people with pre-existing medical conditions (including the 60% of Mainers who have a pre-existing condition), and would allow insurance companies to charge people thousands more if they have a chronic illness such as asthma--and even more if they have had cancer or heart disease.
The cuts in health care for average Americans would go to pay for massive tax cuts for millionaires, drug companies, and health insurance companies that pay their CEOs more than $500,000 a year.
Send Congressman Poliquin a message: Oppose the repeal.
